Over the twelve months since the last Conclave, Alexandria-Washington Chapter has participated in many humanitarian activities:

Save Kids Program: From January to March of 2007, AW chapter participated in a program that educated Elementary school children the dangers of gang membership. Classes took place every other Thursday for 3 months at Rose Hill Elementary with a class of 20-30 students. Several chapter members including the Senior Councilor participated as councilors with a Chapter Advisor. At the completion of the program, the chapter donated $500 to the Rose Hill Elementary School to further their work on anti-gang membership education and other such programs. The Master Councilor and several other members presented this contribution at the last PTA meeting of the year.

Canned Food Drives: AW chapter participated in two separate canned food drives for local shelters in November and April. All Chapter members participated by bringing in various goods, such as cereal, canned vegetables and fruits, and pasta. Both drives were collected over the course of the month, at the end of which, the Junior Councilor and many other members transported the bags of food to the shelters and presented them to the staff there.
